Common questions

What is a sleep study and why might I need one?

A sleep study (polysomnography) records your breathing, oxygen levels, heart rate, brain activity and body movements overnight. It's the definitive test to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea, and is recommended for loud snoring, witnessed breathing pauses, unrefreshing sleep, morning headaches, uncontrolled blood pressure or excessive daytime sleepiness.

Is the sleep study done at the clinic or at home?

We offer both. In-clinic (Level 1) polysomnography is the gold standard and is done overnight in a quiet, private room with full monitoring. Home sleep tests (Level 3) are convenient and appropriate for straightforward suspected sleep apnea. Dr. Arun Gangadhar advises which is right for you after an initial consultation.

Will I actually be able to sleep with all those sensors?

Most patients sleep well enough for a diagnostic-quality recording. The sensors are non-invasive — small electrodes, a nasal cannula, and belts around the chest and abdomen. Our sleep technologist stays through the night and helps you settle in.

How soon will I get the results?

Your study is scored and interpreted by Dr. Arun Gangadhar personally. Detailed results and a treatment plan (CPAP titration, positional therapy, weight and lifestyle guidance, or ENT referral) are discussed in a follow-up visit, usually within a few days.

Do you offer CPAP trial and titration?

Yes. If sleep apnea is confirmed, we arrange CPAP titration, mask fitting, and a supervised trial period. We follow you up to make sure the therapy is comfortable and effective — not just prescribed.
