How do I know if I really have asthma?
A pulmonologist confirms asthma with a focused history, examination and lung function testing (spirometry with bronchodilator reversibility, and sometimes FeNO or a methacholine challenge). We do this in-house and explain the results the same visit.
Will I be on inhalers forever?
Most adults need a low-dose preventer inhaler long term, but doses are stepped up or down based on control. A proper review every 3–6 months often lets us reduce treatment, not increase it.
My asthma flares only in certain seasons — is that normal?
